Form and pattern

Understanding form and pattern.

The first step involved closely observing the hands in different gestures and studying their forms. By examining our own hands or those of others, we analyzed the structure, proportions, and movements. This process helped us understand the intricacies of hand anatomy and how it changes with various gestures.

Next, we created multiple sketches of hands in different gestures. This iterative process helped us refine our observation skills and develop a deeper understanding of the hand's form.

Paying attention to details like the joints, muscles, and contours of the hand helped us capture its essence more accurately.

Once we had a collection of sketches and a better understanding of the hand's form, we proceeded to create a physical model of our hand. This was done using paper, clay, wire, or any other suitable material. The model served as a three-dimensional representation of our observational work, enabling us to study the hand from different angles and perspectives.
