Garden of textures
Building life size installations using poetry as a starting point.
In this module, the aim was to encourage us to think beyond previously learned methods by exploring the emotional and experiential aspects of poetry and translating them into visual art. The poem "Freedom of Love" by André Breton served as a source of inspiration for creating experiential drawings that captured the feelings evoked by the poem.
We tried blending, smudging and creating textures with charcoal, to capture the intensity and atmosphere of the poem.
As the module progressed, we were guided towards translating our conceptual models into human-scale installations. This involved considering the physical space and dimensions necessary to bring our ideas to life. By working with larger scales and dimensions,we had the opportunity to engage with spatial relationships, human interaction, and immersive experiences.
